The Work
Proven Strategies, Personalized Approach
People are complex and experiences are varied, meaning there is rarely one form of therapy that works for everyone. I commit to seeing you fully and supporting you in a way that is as nuanced and individualized as possible. With that being said, I believe intentional, research-based care is responsible care. Here are some of the methodologies I practice.
CBT operates under the belief that our feelings, thoughts, and actions are all connected; by changing one, you have the power to change them all. CBT is largely considered best practice for supporting individuals with anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, PTSD, and more. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy will also allow us to confront and "make sense of" painful, shameful, or scary thoughts.
Utilizing CBT equips clients with practical tools and strategies to navigate everyday life.
SFBT is a goal-oriented, short term approach to therapy that focuses on finding solutions. SFBT is a strengths-based approach that helps clients recognize their strengths while moving them in the direction of their goals.
Utilizing SFBT can provide hope, optimism, and the promise of change from frustrating, stagnant circumstances.
A culturally responsive therapeutic framework recognizes the multitude of identities clients may hold and understands how cultural context can affect a person's experiences, values, and worldview. A culturally-responsive therapist doesn't assume knowledge of a client's identity; rather, they create a space where experiences can be explored and understood safely.
